I have a E350M1 (Asrock with AMD APU, 16GB), works like a charm with vSphere 5 Hypervisor. No local storage, booted from USB.
Cheers,

Thanks for sharing information...
RTL8111E is really supported with ESXi 5?
I saw most of blog Intel 82579LM and 82579V on-board chips are not supported & they are common on all new Intel M/B
I am planning to setup Lab, Please guide.
Thanks,
Praavin

Hello,

Thanks for sharing information…<br

I do not even remember that anymore, which probably would mean that they were minor issues. The only thing I remember is that the RTL8111E was not supported in ESXi 4.1u1. This has changed in 5.0.
One minor thing is that the fan from the Intel i3 2100T cooler is making some sort of ticking sound if the RPM is very low. That might annoy you a bit if you are sensitive to such noises.

HI Daniel,

I do not even remember that anymore, which probably would mean that they were minor issues. This is exactly what I was thinking to build. I was wondering, what kind of issues you ran in to with the new hardware?

Hi Frode,

This is exactly what I was thinking to build.
